My artwork is a photographic narrative of an old magician (Marty) who is near the end of his life. He is living in a retirement home, alone, and depressed. Suddenly his old bag of tricks sparks to life and creates excitement for Marty one last time.This work deals with love, loss, the passion your life brings you, but most of all mortality. When a life ends what happens? Are we with our loved ones in the end, or do the lights just go out? As Marty finishes his remaining moments, instead of going out with a fizzle, he wanted to go out with a bang. He wanted to show his audience one last trick.All my life I have enjoyed entertaining and giving people an escape from their lives. If only for a moment, I take pride in conveying a sense of magic and adventure into the minds of the audience. Why does death have to be the end? Why not the beginning of our next great adventure?
